Zero MLS On-Field Racial and Discriminatory Incidents

UPDATE: We are proud to announce that the 2024 MLS season concluded with ZERO on-field player-on-player discriminatory incidents at the MLS first-team level.

As we enter the second transfer window of the 2024 MLS season, I am proud to report that as of July 1, there have been ZERO on-field player-on-player discriminatory incidents at the MLS first-team level.

Black Players for Change has been very influential in all related aspects of this turn-around, including anti-discrimination policy creation and governance, ICAT curriculum development and program facilitation.

It is essential that we continue to make every effort to ensure that all new players and staff joining clubs this summer understand our collective expectation and commitment to creating a discrimination-free environment within MLS. This is particularly important given the increasing instances of racism and divisiveness in our sport worldwide.
