U.S. Soccer, NWSL, NWSLPA, USL, USLPA, Black Players for Change, Black Women's Player Collective and United Black Players of USL launch the When We All Vote Soccer Collective with video messages for voters.

Washington, DC: Today, U.S. Soccer, the National Women’s Soccer League, the National Women's Soccer League Players Association, United Soccer League, the USL Players Association, Black Players for Change, Black Women's Player Collective, and United Black Players of USL launched the When We All Vote Soccer Collective — a new partnership with When We All Vote, Michelle Obama’s national, nonpartisan voting initiative, encouraging fans to get registered and ready to vote this fall.

“Voting is an opportunity to shape the future,” said NWSLPA President Tori Huster. "When we vote, we are expressing our human right to choose leaders and policies that help drive society forward. Every vote makes a difference.”

While the leagues, player associations and organizations usually compete on the field, they all know that off the field, everyone wins when we all vote. In the final 60 days until the 2024 General Election, players came together in a video message for fans to join them in using their voices collectively in this election.

"Voting is not just a right; it's a responsibility that empowers each of us to shape the future of our communities and our country. The American soccer ecosystem has this unique opportunity to drive meaningful change by coming together and Black Players for Change partnering with When We All Vote, underscores the vital role that athletes play in fostering civic engagement. This partnership aims to inspire and mobilize our community, making sure that every voice is heard and every vote counts,” said Allen Hopkins Jr, Executive Director for Black Players for Change

“We know how loud our voices are in the stands cheering for our favorite soccer teams - now is the time to take that energy from the field to the ballot box,” said Beth Lynk, Executive Director of When We All Vote. “Our vote is our voice and our power. While they normally compete, we’re so excited for the When We All Vote Soccer Collective to bring together these leagues, player associations, and organizations about the one thing we can all agree on: there is too much at stake for our democracy to stay on the sidelines this fall.”

The video message featuring Miles Robinson, Tim Ream, Crystal Dunn, Tierna Davidson, Earl Edwards Jr., Jasmyn Spencer, Madison Hammond and more can be viewed here.
