Black Players for Change (BPC) is aware of the racial epithet that was used in last Saturday’s match between San Jose Earthquakes and New York Red Bulls.

BPC Leadership has spoken to players on both teams and are closely monitoring the MLS investigation and response to this incident.

It’s an unfortunate truth that Saturday’s incident was not an isolated act, but another display of hurtful racism in professional soccer. BPC maintains its consistent stance against this behavior in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world.
