Sean Johnson

Why did you joined the executive board and what role will you play as a board member?

I joined the executive board to help create and establish a sustainable organization that amplifies our black voices to bring about real change. As a board member, I will bring my experiences through life and the years I’ve spent in MLS and use them to continue moving our organization in the right direction.

what does BPC mean to you?

The creation BPC was a very special to me. It was the first time I was able to come together with my brothers in MLS and have our voices be truly heard. Using our platform and voice to influence change for racial and systemic injustices is something I could never pass up.

What has your experience been in the league and what do you hope to see change?

I’ve played for 11 years in this league and witnessed a lot of injustices and situations I haven’t felt I’ve always been able to speak outwardly on. I hope that the league and our society becomes more equitable at every level and awareness is increased as we move toward making these changes sustainable for generations to come.
